02.02.04 Hazelcroft Residential Home : Money, Money, Money..........

The mounting bill for Hazelcroft Residential Home in Fairwater is continuing to increase greatly.  I am told now that it has cost more than £100,000 to keep the facility well and truly closed.

In my view, this is disgraceful.  The home was first closed in February 2002, so it has cost more than £1000 per week for security.

Cardiff desperately needs nursing and residential home provision and it is the Council's duty to the Citizens it serves to provide places.  I will continue to press the Council for answers until this very sad affair is sorted out once and for all.
