18.08.04 Letter to the Echo : Liberal Democrats !

Well, well, well.  It didn't take too long for the liberals (I mean Liberal Democrats) to take the high moral ground.  For the first couple of weeks of this new administration, they appeared to be everything to all people, as Liberals usually are.

I was amazed to read the Deputy Leader of the Liberal Party's letter in the Echo (18.08.04) blowing her own trumpet regarding fees for older people.  In my view, there should have been no increase in charges this year.  We are trying to promote Education and Lifelong Learning, and any increase will prevent some people from not being able to take up courses.

It's a shame that the Liberal Democrats did not support the Conservatives prior to the election in their calls for no increase at all.

But I suppose I shouldn't be surprised.  I am sure that this is a sign of things to come.......
