Last Saturday, Llandaff Cathedral played host to the Installation of a Deputy Lord Prior and Investiture of Knights and Commanders by His Royal Highness the Duke of Gloucester and Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Gloucester. It was attended by representatives from St John Ambulance from across the world, demonstrating the deep commitment to the cause.
An uplifting sermon was given by The Archbishop of Wales which put into perspective how we, as individuals, should be working collectively to improve the world for all. The St John Ambulance plays such a pivotal role in uniting people and working together to heel the sick and needy and it was wonderful for me to see so many friends receiving awards in recognition of their commitment to the St John Ambulance Brigade in
I attended the Rhiwbeina Primary School Sports Day held for the first time in UWIC in Cyncoed. It was a fantastic venue for the school, and the children performed amazingly well. Watch this space as I am sure that in the coming years we will see the extremely talented young people go all the way to the very top. The organisation of the event was superb, under the talented and dynamic head, Mrs Harry, supported by parents, teachers and Governors. Congratulations to everyone involved.
My husband, Cllr Adrian Robson and I were delighted to be invited to attend a play entitled “To Have and To Hold”, staged at the Wales Millennium Centre. It was about the attitudes and thoughts of people who have learning difficulties and opened our eyes to the day to day problems and practicalities that they face. The play was very well executed and was enjoyed by all who attended. For more information about the performance or about the Hijinx Theatre Company please contact me.
