24.10.05 Cardiff Post Article
I was delighted to be made Chairman of Governors at Greenhill Special School in Rhiwbina. The post became vacant when Mr Peter Owen retired from the Governing Body. Peter contributed greatly to the running of the school and will be an exceptionally hard act to follow. Congratulations to all the pupils and staff in achieving excellent examination results again this year.
Congratulations to the winners of the design a Christmas Card Competition in aid of the St John Ambulance Brigade (Rhiwbina Division).   The First Prize younger category winner was Anouska Wheten Rocio from Rhiwbina and the older First Prize category winner was Kate Tucker from Rumney.  Congratulations to all the other entries - the standard was excellent. Christmas Cards are available directly from myself, with the proceeds going towards equipment for the St John Ambulance Brigade. If you would like to purchase the cards please contact me. All your support will be really appreciated.
Cardiff County Council have launched a Low Cost Home Ownership Scheme for people needing help getting on to the property ladder. If you are a first time buyer living or working in Cardiff this scheme may be one to look at. You would need to be able to apply for a 70% mortgage, and the rest is contributed by Cardiff Council or the developer. There is nothing to pay back until the property is sold in the future. If the property is then sold, you need to pay back just 30% of the price you get. For more details on this scheme, please telephone 029 2087 3621 or let me know.
