Cardiff Post Article January 2006
I was distressed to learn that a number of bogus leaflets are being distributed around Rhiwbina and surroundings areas asking residents to donate a number of items for collection in aid of the Third World Clothing Appeal. After being alerted to the leaflet by residents, I made sure that Trading Standards were aware of this literature being circulated. They are working hard in partnership with the local police authority to stop the culprits.
Â
There are, however, many worthwhile organisations who are collecting for the third world and other areas in need of aid. It is vital that people support them so they can continue their good work. It is important to check the details on the leaflets. If in doubt, please contact connect to

If you have any concerns or complaints, please feel free to contact me or log on to www.ccsn.org.uk. This website - Cardiff Consumer Network Support provides detailed information for local residents regarding a number of issues. The network of advice providers aim to protect and promote the interests of Cardiff consumers and businesses by improving access to quality consumer advice services for residents of, and visitors to Cardiff. Members of the CCSN include Trading Standards, Citizens Advice Bureau, local independent consumer advice agencies and solicitors who have agreed to work together closely to ensure that the community is well served. I can assure residents that each member of the group has attained the community legal services quality mark, so people can be content that they will receive expert advice when necessary or referred on to the relevant agency with their complaint. For residents without internet access, please contact me and I will send you the information through the post.Â
